We are based on the coast of Maine and are extremely proud of the fact that it is one of best places in the world to get on the water. Though we have taken clients all over the world, the majority of our trips are based right here. With countless islands and one of the most textured coastlines in the world, Maine offers possibilities for exploration found in few other places.Our guides’ extensive knowledge of the entire coast and Maine's inland waterways means that no bay, inlet, river, lake, pond or stream is off limits.
For those interested in Sea Kayaking, our years of experience on this coastline have led us to four major Atlantic Ocean destinations: Casco Bay, Muscongus Bay, Deer Isle, and the Down East Coast. We can tailor a trip for you that suits your experience level and desire for energy output and adrenaline. During our overnight expeditions, we have countless islands to choose from for lunch and camping spots. Honestly, there aren't many camping experiences quite like the morning on your "own" island — waking up to the first sunrise in the U.S. and staring out towards open ocean.
For those interested in extended adventures on Maine's inland waterways, canoes are the best option. We'll paddle and swim in some of the Northeast's most historically important wilderness waterways. Canoe tripping allows us to take with us many more of the improvised "creature comforts". We'll make very comfortable campsites, have incredible meals, and even bake desserts in dutch ovens. There's a reason many of Thoreau's most famous writings have their roots in his Maine experiences — we hope to help you discover the same connections. We can create customized trips for you — whether you wish to take along your family or are in search of some heavier whitewater experiences.
Lincoln Outdoor Center guides use wilderness settings, low impact camping philosophies, and an extensive history in the field of outdoor education to provide customized adventures. We specialize in designing and executing single-day and multi-day wilderness paddling programs. Through these programs we seek to share our passion for paddling and exploration.We hope to educate our clients through experiences that develop an understanding of the world around them and the people with whom they interact.
Our Risk Management training and an emphasis on thorough logistical planning combine to ensure unique experiences of the highest quality. Having spent 20 years accumulating an impressive record of wilderness trips around the world — including Ireland, Chile, Baja, Thailand, Croatia and New Zealand - our leaders are among the most experienced in their fields. Expert paddlers, Registered Maine Guides, Certified Instructors, Wilderness First Responders, they are first and foremost educators with a passion for personal development as well as for the natural environment and the educational and recreational resources it offers.
